PULS CD5.241 is a power supply unit designed for DIN rail mounting, featuring an aluminium housing and dimensions of W32mm x H124mm x D102mm. It operates within an ambient air temperature range of -25 to +70°C and has a net width of 32 mm. The unit consumes 5.5A current at a 24Vdc input to deliver a full 24Vdc output at 5A, with a peak inrush current of 1.6A. It boasts an efficiency of 0.903 at 24Vdc with a 5A input. The CD5.241 includes a 650ms start-up delay and an 800ms rise time under nominal input with a constant full current load and 0mF load capacitance. It offers protection functions such as output overvoltage protection, short-circuit protection with a minimum of 7A and a maximum of 10A continuous current, and allows for series or parallel operation for increased output power or 1+1 redundancy. The unit is capable of handling back-feeding loads up to 30V without malfunctioning, whether powered on or off, and includes reverse polarity protection. Power dissipation/losses are 12.9W under a 24Vdc input with a 24V output load at 5A, and 6.2W at 2.5A. The output stage capacitance is 2200 µF, and the electrical durability ranges from 37,000 to 185,000 hours depending on the operating conditions. It features a ripple of 50mVpp across 20Hz to 20MHz at 50Ω. This PSU/DC/DC-Converter offers a 20% power reserve, is part of the CD-series, and includes ATEX approval for galvanic isolation. Connection is facilitated via screw-clamp connections, with a supply voltage range of 18Vdc-32.4Vdc (24Vdc nominal) and 14.4-18Vdc for up to 60s. The rated current is 6A at 24Vdc from -25 to +45°C and 5A at +45 to +60°C, with a derating to 3W from +60 to +70°C. The rated power is 144W at ambient temperatures below 45°C and 120W below 60°C. The output voltage is adjustable between 23-28Vdc, with a 500mV turn-ON overshoot, and a hold time of 6ms at 24Vdc input.
