Turck RI-12I12E-4B3600-H1181 is a compact incremental rotary encoder designed for versatile applications requiring precise motion control and feedback. It features a 63mm flex mount (slotted) flange mounting for easy installation and a through hollow shaft flange with slotted flex mount optical sensing for accurate operation. This encoder operates within an ambient air temperature range of -40 to +85°C and is equipped with a pre-equipped radial 8-pin M12 Eurofast QD male connector for reliable connectivity. As part of the Type RI-12 series, it has a 2" casing diameter and offers IP65 protection against dust and water ingress. The supply voltage ranges from 5Vdc to 30Vdc, supporting 6Vdc, 12Vdc, and 24Vdc systems, with a maximum pulse frequency of 300kHz (up to 5000rpm). Constructed with a die-cast metal housing, stainless steel shaft, disc table, and packing ring, it ensures durability. Communication is facilitated via an RS-422 protocol, and it features a 12mm hollow shaft bore. The digital output is RS422 pulse output, TTL compatible, and supports 5Vdc to 30Vdc. It includes protection functions against short-circuit, bearing lock, magnetic fields, and reverse polarity. The encoder can handle a rotational speed up to 12000rpm (mechanical limit), with a moment of inertia of 6 x 10-6kg.m2, and offers a high resolution of 3600ppr (pulses/revolution). Its current consumption is 40mA with no load, and it can withstand a maximum radial load of 80 N and a maximum axial load of 40 N.
