Panasonic SF4D-A20 is a sensor array designed for arm/foot-protection with intrinsic safety features suitable for applications requiring PL e / SIL3 safety levels. It incorporates a compact and robust design with an aluminium housing and a sensing surface made of polycarbonate resin and stainless steel SUS304, complemented by nylon upper and lower caps. This light curtain sensor offers several functions including interference prevention, external device monitoring with an 8-core or 12-core cable, an interlock function with manual or auto reset options, an override function exclusive to the 12-core cable, and a fixed blanking function. It is pre-equipped with a connector for ease of installation and operates within an ambient air temperature range of -10 to +55°C. The SF4D-A20 boasts an IP67 degree of protection, ensuring durability in various environmental conditions. The protective height is 790 mm, and it features two digital outputs (selectable NPN/PNP open-collector / 24Vdc / 60-200mA) for safety outputs OSSD1+OSSD2, and one digital output (selectable NPN/PNP open-collector / 24Vdc / 100mA). Its sensing distance ranges from 20cm to 9m in long mode, equivalent to 0.656 to 29.528 feet, extending up to 15m or 49.213 feet in the same mode. The current consumption is 100mA (0.1 A) for the emitter and 130mA (0.13 A) for the receiver. It utilizes infrared (IR) light with a wavelength of 850 nm and can detect objects as small as 45mm or 1.772 inches.
