About the product
Banner Engineering SMU31EL is a photo-electric sensor designed as part of the SMU315 universal voltage series. This sensor operates as an emitter alone within a through-beam system and features opposed mode potentiometer adjustment. It is housed in thermoplastic material and comes pre-wired with a 6.5ft / 2m cable that terminates with bare end flying leads. The SMU31EL supports a wide supply voltage range, accepting 24Vac-240Vac (with 200Vac / 220Vac nominal) and 24Vdc-240Vdc (with 48Vdc / 120Vdc / 220Vdc nominal). It is designed for M18 threaded mount installation and can operate within an ambient air temperature range of -20 to +55°C. This sensor offers a high degree of protection, rated at IP67 and compliant with multiple NEMA standards including 1, 2, 3, 3S, 4, 4X, 6, 12, and 13. Its rectangular shape is engineered for a sensing distance of up to 30m, utilizing infrared (IR) light with a wavelength of 880 nm. The SMU31EL features a quick response time of 20ms / 0.02 s and supports both Light-ON and Dark-ON operating modes.
